An evacuation alert has been issued for properties just outside of Fort St. John due to the landslide that hit Old Fort on Sunday, September 30.

The Regional District says the slide has progressed, and those living or working on the properties in the orange area south of Road 245 and east of Road 265 need to be ready to leave at a moment's notice. The PRRD recommends packing a bag with all essential items, including medications, eyeglasses, valuable papers and keepsakes such as valuable photos. This alert follows an order on Sunday that forced all remaining Old Fort residents to leave the community.
