Fort St. John RCMP credit “proactive police work” for the arrest of four people in an alleged kidnapping plot.

Just before 5:00 a.m. on March 7, police were at a local motel when they saw what’s described as “suspicious activity”.

The officers went to a room and saw an altercation underway between three people.

Inside the room, officers found a loaded semi-automatic, a sawed-off shotgun, a large amount of suspected drugs and trafficking paraphernalia, as well as personal belongings for a fourth person they didn’t see.
The three occupants were arrested.

While the officers at the motel continued to investigate, someone arrived at the RCMP Detachment claiming he had been kidnapped in Dawson Creek and held in a residence in Taylor.

Police obtained a search warrant for the home in Taylor, where a fourth person was arrested and two more guns were found.

In total, 24 charges have been issued against:
Christopher Munch (42)
Gavin Davis (29)
Natasha Ray (34)
Theodore Capot-Blanc (26)

These charges include Kidnapping with a Prohibited Firearm, Forcible Confinement and various other firearm offences, drug charges and breach of conditions charges.

Munch, Davis and Capot-Blanc remain in custody.

Ray has been released on an Undertaking before a Judge.
